The Teleserve Automated Payment System allows you to request your weekly unemployment insurance benefit payments using a touch-tone telephone. This payment service is used by anyone receiving unemployment benefits and claiming benefits for the previous completed calendar week. To use Teleserve, you must meet all eligibility requirements. Once you have filed your claim and are allowed benefits, you must call our Teleserve line every week to certify for payment. TeleServe customers may now call any time between 12:01 a.m. on Sunday to 7:00 a.m. on Monday, and any time Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. TeleServe customers will not be able to certify for payment outside of these designated hours. Please note that the greatest demand for the Teleserve line occurs between 6am and 2pm on Sundays; you are more likely to encounter busy signals or extended waits during this time period than during other TeleServe hours of operation. The Teleserve System is for benefit payments only. You cannot use this system to file an initial claim for benefits or to reopen an existing claim. Claims filing must be completed via the internet at www.dlt.ri.gov or by calling the Uemployment Insurance Service Center (UISC) at (401) 243-9100 and for out-of-state residents, toll free at 1-866-557-0001.
